 MALING KUNDANG

            Long time ago, a widow and herson lived in a small village near the beach in west Sumatra.Herson was malin kundang whose father was dead when he was a baby. Malin kundang was healthy, diligent and strong child. He usually went to the sea to catch fish.

          One day when he was sailing,he saw a  merchant’s ship which was being raided by pirates.With his courage and power, malin defeated the pirates. The merchant was very happy and asked malin to sail with him.

          Many years later, malin became a wealthy merchant with huge ship, beautiful wife and many ship crews.In his journey,his ship landed on a beach which he had left for many years. The villagers recognized him and the news ran fast in the town. His mother ran to the beach in deep lonaliness.

          When his mother came malin kundang denied that the old woman was his mother. He said that he had never had a mother who was dirty and ugly. Then he asked his crew to sail. Malin’s mother said that she would Cursed him if he didn’t apologize. But, malin kundang just laughed and set sail.

          In the quiet sea suddenly a thunderstorm blew. Malin kundang’s ship was wrecked and it was too late for him to apologize. He was thrown by the wave out of his ship and suddenly turned into a stone.

          Last Sunday, we went to the park. David’s family invited us to a barbecue party in the park. We lived nearby so we just walked there.

          When we got to the park, there were not many people yet. David’s family was already there. They arrived there early to get the best picnic spot with an electronic grill marby. When I arrived, they were cleaning the barbecue. They made sure the barbecue was clean. When it was clean, they turned the barbecue on by pushing the button. The electric stove turned on and the metal plate became hot.

          David’s mother put some cooking oil on the metal plate and after that she put some sausages, beef steaks and some onions on the barbecue. Meanwhile, david’s father was preparing the bread, butter and drinks. While waiting for the meat to cook. David and I joined our friends playing foot ball. When we got tried, we stopped and enjoyed the sausages, steaks and some cold soft drink.

          The food was delicious I think David’s mother is one of the best cooks the world.

          One of the nicest hotels in the city is New Asia Hotel, which is located on garden drive. The hotel is about 20 minutes by car from the airport and about ten minutes from the center of the city.

          The hotel is a tall modern 6-storey building with large grounds. There are over 200 rooms in the hotel. Each room has a television set, a bathroom and air conditioning. Prices for rooms range from $ 40 to $ 80.

          There are two restaurants in the hotel as well as a coffee shop. One restaurant serves Japanese food. In the hotel grounds there are tennis courts and a swimming pool.

Tyrannosaurus rex, sometimes just called T-rex, is believed to be the largest and most fearsome predator on Earth's land ever to have existed. This dinosaur once roam the Earth in the Creataceous period approximately 68 to 65 million years ago.
As a carnivorous dinosaur, this giant predator most likely ambushed their prey, and devoured them with jaws full of white sharp teeth. With it's fast ability to run at an astonishing speed of 32 mph (50 kmh), a perfect slim and stiff tail that gave it an excellent balance and allowed it to make quick turns, equipped this gigantic predator and made it even more deadly, like a killing machine.

Dear Editor,
We are writing to complain about ads on TV. There are so many ads, especially during our favorite programs. We think they should be stopped for a number of reasons.
First, ads are nuisance. They go on for a long time and there are so many. Sometimes there seems to be more ads than programs.
Second, ads are bad influence on people. They try to encourage people to buy unhealthy food like beer, soft drink, candy and chips. And they make people want things they do not really need and can not.
Finally, the people who make ads have too much say in what programs people Watch, that is because they want to put all their ads on popular programs that a lot of people watch. Some programs which are not so popular get stopped because they do not attract enough ads, even though those programs may be someone’s favorite.
For those reasons, we think TV station should stop showing ads. They interrupt programs. They are bad influences on people, and they are sometimes put a stop to people’s favorite shows. We are sick of ads, and now we mostly watch other channels.

The existence of the Loch Ness monster has been debated since centuries ago.
In my opinion, there is a great chance that the Loch Ness monster, often nicknamed Nessie does exist in Loch Ness, Scotland. Many attempts to prove it, such as the famous expedition led by Dr. Robert Rines in the year 1972. He and his fellow scientists found recorded evidence using a sonar that something big indeed lives in the great loch. Many sightings by professionals that are unlikely to lie say that Nessie has the form of an aquatic animal much like the extinct plesiosaurus.
Photographs of the monster has also been taken by people trying to find evidence, and many of this photographs has been proved real and not a hoax. But unfortunately, not all of these evidence are authentic. Photographs, videos, even Nessie footprints has been faked. And until now, no one, not even scientists has come up with a carcass or live specimen of this creature. Untill then, we may never be sure that a living creture the so called Loch Ness monster is really living in the loch. I think we should keep a look out for this creature, we might find Nessie as a living dinosaur who survived extinction!

A tsunamis is a series of waves generated when water in a lake or in the sea is rapidly displaced on a massive scale.Earthquakes,landslides,volcanic eruptions and large meteorite impacts all have the potential to generate a tsunami.The effects of a tsunami can range from unnoticeable to devastating.

The term tsunami comes from the Japanese language meaning harbor(“tsu”) and wave (“nami”).Although in Japanese tsunami is used for both the singular and plural,in English tsunamis is wellestablished as the plural.The term is created by fishermen who returned to port to find the area surrounding the harbor devastated,although they had not been aware of any wave in the open water.A tsunami is not a sub-surface event in the deep ocean;it simply has a much smaller amplitude (wave heights) offshore,and a very long wavelength(often hundreds of kilometers long),which is why they generally pass unnoticed at sea,forming only a passing”hump”in the ocean.

Tsunamis have been historically referred to as tidal waves because as they approach land they take on the characteristics of a violent on rushing tide rather than the sort of cresting waves that are formed by wind action upon the ocean(with which people are more familiar).However,since they are not actually related to tides,the term is considered misleading and its usage is discouraged by oceanographers.

     A supervisor was jailed for two months for repeatedly striking his Indonesian maid on the head and back with a television remote.

     Muhammad shafiq wan Abdullah was brought to court in Singapore because he had physicially hurt the women on severel occasions between june and October 2002,the straits time said.The  magistrate’s court heard that shafiq,31 began striking winarti,22 about a month after she started working for him.

      He hit her on the head with the TV sets remote control because he was unhappy with her work.On one occasion,he punched her on the back after accusing her of daydreaming.

       S.S Dhillon,shafiq’s lawyer,said that his client had become mad when he saw his daughter’s face covered as she was lying in bed.He said his client thought the maid had put the child in danger.

Thanks so much for the great birthday present,I really love it! I've wanted that CD for ages. How did you know? You are really cool! I've been working really hard at school. We've got some exams coming up, so I've got heaps of study to some exams coming up. Hopefully I'll remember everything! I hate exams! Last weekend I stayed at Jacquie's place. We studied together (yes, I actually did do some studied together  and I went to a party that really homework as well)

rocked.I met this guy... we'll see how things work out.
